Paceo ("we", "our", or "us") is a training and nutrition coaching service. This policy describes what information we collect when you use the Paceo iOS app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your data exists to run your plan, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it yourself at any time.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your name and email address. We sign you in with one-time email codes, so we never store a password.
- Onboarding and profile details: what you tell us when setting up your plan, including your goal (for example losing weight or preparing for an event), sex, birth year, height, weight, target weight, activity level, primary sport, and unit preference. We use these to compute your calorie, macro, and training targets.
- Training and nutrition data: workouts, planned sessions, logged activities, food diary entries, recipes, and nutrition targets you create or import.
- Health data, only with your permission: if you enable Apple Health sync, we read the metrics you authorize (such as workouts, heart rate, and body measurements) to power readiness and progress features. If you connect Strava, we import the activities you authorize.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription or trial, which product, and when it renews or expires. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card or bank details.
- Basic device information: OS and app version, for stability and crash reporting.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
- Data from third-party sources without your explicit permission
- Any data while the app is in the background
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to:
- Compute your calorie, macro, and training targets and generate your plans
- Show your progress, readiness, and history
- Sync your data across your devices
- Power the in-app coach when you use it (see "AI features" below)
- Manage your subscription and trial
- Improve app stability and performance
AI Features
When you talk to the Paceo coach, the content of your conversation and the data needed to answer (for example your plan, recent training, or nutrition targets) is processed by our AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) solely to generate the response. We use these providers under agreements that prohibit using your data to train their models. The coach only runs when you use it; nothing is sent to AI providers in the background.
Connected Assistants
You can optionally connect external AI assistants (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to your Paceo account. If you do, the assistant can access your Paceo data within the scopes you grant. Sensitive domains like health and nutrition each require a separate, explicit toggle. What an assistant does with data you share through it is governed by that assistant's own privacy policy. You can review and disconnect assistants, or change their data access, at any time in Paceo's settings.
Apple Health
Data read from Apple Health is used only to provide the features you asked for. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties except at your direction. You can withdraw Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings, and doing so stops all further reads.
Payments and Subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, which shares with us the transaction details Apple provides (product, purchase and expiry dates, trial status) but no payment information.
Service Providers
We use a small number of processors to run Paceo: cloud hosting and database services (with data stored in the European Union), transactional email delivery for sign-in codes, subscription management, and the AI providers described above. Each processes your data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in the European Union and protected with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Tokens for connected services (like Strava) are additionally encrypted at the application level.
Your Rights and Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from the app (You → Delete account); the deletion is immediate and permanent. You may also contact us to access, correct, export, or delete your data. If you are in the EU or UK, these are your rights under the GDPR, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children's Privacy
Paceo is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice.
